As an Ontario post-secondary student with an identified learning disability, you may be eligible for funding to help pay for disability-related educational supports.  To be eligible for funidng, you must be diagnosed with a persistent or prolonged disability.  This is defined as any impairment, including a physical, mental, intellectual, cognitive, learning, communication or sensory impairment that restricts your ability to perform the daily activities necessary to pursue studies at a postsecondary school level.  The disability must has lasted, or is expected to last, for a period of at least 12 months, but is not expected to remain with you for your expected life.  In addition, you must have applied for and be eligible for OSAP funding for your study period.

You should work with your post-secondary institution’s office for students with disabilities/accessibility services office to complete the application and to send your completed BSWD application and all required documents to your school’s financial aid office.  Your eligibility for funding and the amount of funding you may be eligible to receive is based on your disability and your specific disability-related limitations.  Service providers eligible for coverage include:

You must provide receipts as proof of purchase for services. If you receive funds for services (e.g., tutors, strategists), you must also provide a Time Log and Receipt for Services that lists when each of the approved services was provided.

StudySpot Toronto‘s Academic Coaches and Strategists meet the requirements of the BSWD and is able to provide all documentation required both prior to application and after the services have been provided.  Please contact us to learn more about how StudySpot can support your success while attending university or college.
