Barbara Kerr, Owner StudySpot Oakville/Milton

Barbara draws on her years of experience as a High school teacher and Guidance counsellor, as well as her own personal experiences as a parent of a child with ADHD and Dyslexia to support her clients through StudySpot Oakville/Milton. Her desire to support student learning very much aligns with StudySpot’s ultimate goal to equip students with the strategies and  tools that will make them effective learners, resulting in success in school and beyond.

When Barbara discovered StudySpot she was immediately drawn to the wholistic academic supports provided through the coaching model. As a parent of a child with ADHD and Dyslexia, she had taught her own child these skills as he progressed through school. She saw firsthand the importance of Executive Functioning Skills like time management, organisation, as well as study skills to equip the learner for success at school and in life. 

After three years of disrupted learning as a result of the pandemic, Barbara has observed, now more than ever, students need support developing organisation and academic tools to be effective learners. She sees the Organization and Study Skills provided through StudySpot Academic Coaching are essential to all students as they navigate their educational pathway.
