A lifelong educator and student advocate, Lou is proud to bring StudySpot’s Academic Coaching services to the Guelph/Wellington region! With many years of experience as an educational leader, principal, coach, and consultant – Lou has helped countless students overcome obstacles to their success. His extensive knowledge of student learning and coaching makes him well-positioned to provide the necessary supports for students at StudySpot Guelph.

An innate educational leader, Lou has spent his entire professional career serving others to grow, learn and succeed. Being one of the first education administrators in Canada to attain Executive Coaching status (Certified Master Executive Coach), Lou will incorporate best practices of coaching and mentoring with StudySpot Guelph, to ensure all students are supported in critical areas such as executive functioning and core skills.

With an extensive background in Special Education (Special Education Specialist) serving students with diverse needs, Lou’s drive to help students succeed is behind his motivation in providing StudySpot Educational Services to students in Gueph.  Always student-centred and focused on helping students prosper, Lou determination to support student learning very much aligns with StudySpot’s ultimate goal to equip students with the academic tools they require to be effective learners, and to provide them with lasting  skills that will ensure their success as they navigate their educational pathway.  StudySpot Guelph welcomes the opportunity to work with students to implement the recommendations from  Educational or Psychological assessments.

Lou has served students, teachers, and parents in a variety of administrative and instructional capacities at the Elementary, Secondary, College and University levels, and is fully aware of the demands placed on students to be successful at each of these levels. His various roles include Secondary School Principal (A.N. Myer, RCBHS, Westlane), Special Needs Consultant/System Resource, and Major Department Head of Special Education and Special Needs with the District School Board of Niagara (DSBN); Instructor in the Faculty of Education at Brock University; and Adjunct Professor, Canadian Program Director, and Teacher Supervisor at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.

Lou remains actively engaged in Education as Principal of the Summer Academy and Summer Programmes at Ridley College. As an Educational Coach, Trainer and Consultant since co-founding Discitus Consultants in 2010, Lou has also been providing Student Success Coaching to students of all ages, and Consulting Strategies and Solutions for education, business and community organizations.

At StudySpot Guelph, Lou will apply his insights and extensive experiences in education to ensure students receive the full and necessary support to succeed and thrive in their academic environment.
